PCE - US consumer prices
What it measures
The BEA's personal consumption expenditures price index. Core PCE excludes food and energy. It is not the same index as CPI.
Why traders follow it
Compare actuals with forecasts on the same basis: monthly with monthly and yearly with yearly. The Fed focuses on sustained inflation trends. A single monthly jump does not determine the next decision.
Check the country, period and source. A single value or regime label does not determine a trade's direction.
