MDS / TREASURIES
Treasuries - US government securities
What it measures
US government debt securities. Bills have shorter maturities, while Notes and Bonds have longer maturities. Rising yields do not mean rising bond prices. For the same security, the relationship is generally inverse.
Why traders follow it
Check the maturity. Two-year and ten-year yields reflect different expectations. Yields can rise because of policy rates, inflation or risk premiums. Without identifying the cause, do not automatically conclude that the dollar rises and gold falls.
Check the country, period and source. A single value or regime label does not determine a trade's direction.
