Wages - employee pay
What it measures
US Average Hourly Earnings measures average hourly pay in private nonfarm employment. Changes can reflect workforce composition, not only individual pay rises.
Why traders follow it
Compare monthly and yearly changes with hours worked and employment. Sustained wage growth matters for demand and inflation but does not guarantee a rate hike.
Check the country, period and source. A single value or regime label does not determine a trade's direction.
