What it measures
The UK's central bank. Its MPC sets Bank Rate. The vote split shows how many members supported each rate option.
Why traders follow it
Compare the decision with the forecast, then review the vote and the bank's explanation. An unchanged rate can accompany a shift in the future policy path. GBP and UK bonds are the main instruments. Do not transfer Fed conclusions to the BoE.
Check the country, period and source. A single value or regime label does not determine a trade's direction.
